Happy 4th and a Freebie Alpha!

Filed under: Freebies, Getting Creative — Lucie @ 11:35 pm

Happy 4th of July to all my US readers! I hope you all had a great day and are enjoying the break.

There are so many 4th of July freebie kits around at the moment, I thought that rather than doing a kit, I would make a little something to co-ordinate with them instead.

Download it here

Celebrate the 4th! is a slightly distressed patterned cardboard alpha, edged with red glitter (what else lol). A-Z (upper and lower case), all numbers and a few special characters.

Thank you soooo much to everyone who has left me comments on my blog and 4shared, and an EXTRA BIG thank you! to those who blogged about my freebies, it means more to me than you know.

On another note, I’ve started thinking of applying to sell my creations in a store or two. Don’t know if I’m going to be able to get up the nerve or not, but if you’re the wishing kind, please cross your fingers and send an extra bit of luck or two my way. If you’re a store looking for a new but keen (and addicted lol) digiscrap designer, my inbox would be thrilled to hear from you.

Thank you again and enjoy!

Freebie time again!

Filed under: Freebies, Getting Creative — Lucie @ 11:26 pm

This time for the My Scrap Shop Design a Kit Challenge. If you’re new to digital designing, or just want to have a go, it’s a great friendly environment to share your work, and pick up new skills.

I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with this month’s kit until I started playing with the color swatch and made the first paper. I was instantly reminded and inspired by some of my favourite paintings, Monet’s Water Lillies. From this, the kit evolved to Summer in Monet’s Garden. I tried some new things with this one, and so I hope you like it!

Download it here

Contains:

6 x solid painted papers
4 x patterned papers
4 x beautiful butterflies
2 x frame wraps
1 x distressed painted wooden frame
1 x distressed journal tag
1 x antique glass flower brooch
1 x flower
2 x velvet ribbons
1 x green grograin ribbon
1 x yellow satin ribbon
1 x threaded ribbon swirl
1 painted leaf

… and a full painted alpha to finish it off.

Thank you again for all the wonderful comments left for my last freebie, and a special thank you to those who featured it on your own blog, as always it is greatly appreciated!

Enjoy!

CU bargains

Filed under: It's Sale Time, Reviews — Lucie @ 11:37 am

I wanted to let you know about the new overlay set Mel from MCA Designs has released this week over at My Scrap Shop. It’s her birthday this week, and to celebrate she’s put together 100 overlays, plus a tutorial on how to use them, for just $10.

Be quick, it’s only at this sale price for the rest of this week. At only 10c an overlay, it’s worth checking out.

While you’re there, take a peek at PillowGirls’ latest CU Stash. She’s up to #8 and they’re a great addition to any designer’s toolkit.

I’ll have a new freebie for you all soon, so don’t forget to come back soon :).

Quick Page Freebie

Filed under: Freebies, Getting Creative — Lucie @ 12:34 pm

Thank you again for your wonderful comments here and on 4shared! I’m a real newbie designer (only ever done freebies), and so I have just been blown away by your comments, each and every one has just made my day.

If you have made a layout with any of my kits, I would love to see it. Please leave a link to it in the comments, and if you’re happy for me to publish it on the blog (with a link back to yours of course) that would be great.

The final freebie for the Happy Birthday June! Kit is three quick pages. I just love the designs and I’m hoping you will too. Enjoy them!
