Christmas Cards in a flash.

Filed under: Card Making,Getting Creative — Lucie @ 9:08 pm

Well I am really trying to get myself better organised this year with my Christmas Cards. The last couple of years I not only left my card making process far too late but I also attempted ‘grand’ techniques for the cards and consequently I didn’t end up finishing them.

So this year, I have already particpated in a Card Swap with the scrapping gals over at She-essence (so I can’t show you those just yet, until the swap is complete) and I obtained a sheet of christmas stickers in a product swap that are super cute but I probably wouldn’t use them on a page.

My aim was to get as many cards out of the one sheet of stickers that I could. I’m pretty happy with the results, with six cards in total, simple but still very christmasy. What do you think?

Off Our Rockers

Filed under: Generally Speaking,Other Stuff — Lucie @ 10:31 pm

It amazes me as to how many grandparents are having to take over the raising of their grandchildren for many varying reasons. Just when they are either about to retire or may have already done so. Just when life is supposed to become less complicated and more laid back some grandparents are taking on ‘once again’ one of life’s biggest responsibilites.

My hat truly goes off to these people, they are an absolute blessing in disguise. So are you a grandparent raising your grandchildren? Do you know someone that is? I believe that the support out there is really very limited and that’s why a friend of mind has started a wonderful new supportive website for Grandparents raising Grandchildren.

The Off Our Rockers website and support forum is a place to find out information and meet others in the same situation as you. Having that support network around I am sure can and will really assist those in need.

Well done Jenny for providing such a place. Visit Off Our Rockers.

Introducing Top Scrapbooking Blogs

Us scrapbookers seem to love the art of blogging and I for one love to read other scrapbooking blogs. I love seeing what others come up with on a daily basis. I also love spending time surfing the net going from blog to blog. So I thought why not have one place to find all blogs with a ‘scrappy’ feel to them.

So do you blog? Do you show off your scrapping on your blog? Then jump on over and list your blog on Top Scrapbooking Blogs

We’ve recently introduced a monthly Photography Challenge over at the forum which runs over two consectutive months. Month one we choose a theme for our shots and then month two we complete a layout of the photo’s we took. It’s proving to be a popular challenge with everyone really enjoying the first round, which was themed, “Spring Flowers”.  We sure had some great entries and in fact this shot from Chantal of Always In Bloom not only took out the photography challenge but was also the overall winner of the month for all of our challenges.
